HLSA has maintained a photo archive since its inception. In the post-Internet age, it has traditionally been posted to the Web. The primary purpose of the photos is to prove attendance at HLSA events (and therefore, the active membership and popularity of the organization as well). The photos are used in presentations to the Student Bar Association, which approves university funding for student organizations. Without photos, there is no funding; without funding, there are no events. Without the photos, HLSA would not have the funding to continue its existence.
Beyond that, the photos are a source of pride for the distinguished speakers, members, and guests of HLSA and Tech Law generally. The photos provide a lasting record of what previous classes have done and provide an inspiration for future events.
However, we understand that not everyone wants their name and image up in lights on the Internet. You may request that your picture be removed by emailing david.reuthinger@ttu.edu and specifying which page and picture you wish to have returned. No reason need be given, but you must specify which picture either by position (second row, third from left) or filename (DCP_1234.JPG). Alternatively, you may utilize the Texas Tech DMCA service agent, but the response time will be slower.
