Join HLSA! Membership Dues
The Student Bar Association requires the collection of nominal dues by organizations who seek official university funding. Our membership dues are $30 per year.

Per the SBA By-laws, NO Law School Organization may collect dues until after the Law School has held its Organizational Fair, which will be held sometime in the first 3 weeks after school begins.

Checks should be made out to HLSA and can be given to the Organization Treasurer, Christine Schwartz.

What do dues do for you?

  1. Mentorship from 2L and 3L law students, professors, and attorneys
  2. Free Study Aids
  3. National Conference funding
  4. Website updates and communication
  5. Lunch with HLSA speakers
  6. Thanksgiving Dinner w/Faculty
  7. Faculty/Lawyer receptions
  8. Banquet Formal
  9. 1L, 2L, and 3L Workshops to assist you throughout the year
  10. Fun fundraising and community service activities

Where do the dues go?  They go to our account to assist us in funding the four speakers and several faculty/lawyer receptions we have throughout the year. Additionally, they assist in funding conferences for our members, or go to the purchasing of supplements and study aids for our members. Funds are also used for gifts and food for our members and the Lubbock community throughout the year. We also have a scholarship fund and hope to create fellowship funding this year.
