2005-2006 Survey The Centre at Overton Park
Location: located across from the football stadium on University – about a 5 minute drove from the law school.
Size & Rent: 2 bedrooms/ 2 bath is $970 – and cable/internet is addition $50
Includes: Dishwasher, garbage disposal
Optional (extra cost): Central air, W/D, cable and Internet ($50 together)
Comments: It’s a nice facility – nice work out room, pool/jacuzzi, parking garage, pool table, business center with free printing and random rooms with couches on each floor. There is a campus shuttle stop at the apt. and a salon and some stores below the apartments. It is across the street from starbucks and moe’s – walking distance from several restaurants/shops.  However, it is very overpriced compared to other places in Lubbock and you aren’t getting much more.
Most of the tenants are undergrads and it gets very noisy – and there will be a ton of construction in the area around the apartment over the next few years which is also noisy and inconvenient.

The good balances the bad at this place – however, I personally will not be living there again.

Location: 5204 50th St. (intersection of 50th & Slide)
Size & Rent: 2 bedrooms/ 2 bath is $750
Includes: Central air, W/D (some available without), Dishwasher, Garbage Disposal
Optional (extra cost): Cable, Internet
Comments: It’s kind of old, from the 60’s I think.  The plumbing is really unreliable. However, there are lots of trees and therefore lots of squirrels, birds and other relaxing wildlife.  Nice on-premises exercise facility and tanning bed for those who desire them. The staff is very friendly, but some of the residents are not.  People seem to be moving out every year (i.e., not renewing their leases), so take that into consideration
